Perché il verbo to be è così importante?
Il verbo to be – coniugazione. Il verbo to be è il cuore della grammatica inglese. È il primo verbo che imparano i bambini e compare in ogni esame, da A1 fino al Cambridge Advanced. Senza la sua corretta coniugazione, è impossibile comunicare in inglese.
In italiano corrisponde a “essere”, ma in inglese svolge un ruolo molto più ampio: descrive stati (I am happy), identità (She is a doctor), luoghi (They are at school) e serve a formare la forma passiva e tutti i tempi Continuous.
Coniugazione del verbo to be al Present Simple
È la forma di base, usata ogni giorno.

Attenzione agli errori comuni:

“He are” è sbagliato → corretto: “He is”.

Coniugazione del verbo to be al Past Simple
Al passato distinguiamo due forme: was e were.

Errori più comuni con il verbo to be

Confusione tra am / is / are – es. She are invece di She is.

Dimenticare il “be” dopo will – es. I will happy invece di I will be happy.

Forme negative sbagliate – I amn’t (non corretto) → I’m not.

Domande senza inversione – You are happy? invece di Are you happy?.
